I Made It!!!

Well, just in case you were worried....I am now in the 21st century. I now have a Nano ipod. It is not really doing what it should yet but I am still learning Sydnee had to show me how to turn it on. So I guess I have a lot to learn.

Marney was kind enough to walk me through the set up and starting of downloading and I now have two albums in my little Nano. It is still just playing one song at time but I will get the bugs out and be able to shuffle.

This is very cool and I am looking forward to downloading more songs and getting into the world of music again. I guess I sort of left it when my girls left and went to talk and now I think I might just have to go back to some music and some talk. A good balance of both is probably the best. Maybe even an audio book or two.

So that is what has been happenin so far with us. If I suddenly have a break through you will be the first to know.

BRRRRRR

I guess we are looking at WINTER the weather is really cold here and we have snow and lots of ice on the ground. I know it is not all that unusual for a lot of you to get cold and snow but for us it is a big deal.

I know Kelsee was hoping that she didn't have school on Monday but it was only cold not snowy yet. Today is another story. She didn't get her wish but she did get to sleep in for an extra hour I don't think that is the same.

I thought I heard something about a La Nina coming to our part of the world and I think we are looking forward to that after more than 12 inches of rain for the month of November and we still have a couple of days left to break that record.

We all survived Thanksgiving and had a good time. Amy was the hostess and did a great job. We played Crainum and all had lots of laughs. Some of us need help in some of the catagories. I am speaking of myself only and that is my story and I'm sticking to it.

Now we have Christmas to look to and I don't know what that will bring with half of the family going to Hawaii and the rest of us here. I was thinking of heading out just for something different to do and see how that works. We may head to the coast depending on the weather. If it is like this week it would be better to stay closer and not try to go over any mountains. There is a record snow fall too so maybe something even more different than that. We will see but need to do some thinking.

Hope all had a Wonderful Thanksgiving and didn't get too much in the tummy to be able to do the things you wanted to. Like walk....

Well, so much for the fax..

Day Light Savings

Well, here it is another daylight savings change. We are back to Standard time and dark at night unless you get to leave your job by 4:00 you get to come home in the dark. Not so good.

We have had so much rain that Oregon even changed where they are getting their water supply for the area because the water level is back up again. Go figure.

I guess we have some places that are emergency areas and the water has made a mess of some of the roads. Now we have to work on the state to get the money to fix these things. That is how it goes.

Life is good Bob has been able to take some days off and he needs to do that every so often and he just sort of does what he wants to except for yesterday. He wanted to play golf he could have if he wanted to do so with scuba equipment on. It was that bad here. So he stayed home and did stuff around here. Just to be home and away from work is the best.

I am thinking that it might do me some good too. I am getting to the burn out stage and that is not good. Hope things change and I get myself back on the track again.

Well, so much for the fax just another day and that's the way it is.

November

Here it is November and we are getting really cold. I guess that is what is supposed to be it is getting to be close to winter. We don't really like that (at least most of us) but here it is. We had frost on the ground yesterday and again today.

Things are just going on not much exciting to report just work and home. We did have a nice weekend spent it with Pam, Trish and boys, Amy, Wade and their girls. We just had a some games and some pizza. Man is Patrick getting TALL. He is 13 and almost 6' tall. His voice is getting deep too. I guess they all grow up it is just really exciting to see them all grow up.

We had dinner with Pam and Jeff and Katherine and Sean were there too. It was very nice and I got to see Alex too. He is tall too but he has been tall for a little while and his voice is deep too. He will be 16 soon WOW!!!!! They grow up so fast and the older we get the faster they grow up.

Well so much for that and that was just the fax.

I am so confussed

I thought I had one blog now I have two and I don't know how to get into them without going to the beginning all the time. What in the world is happening?????

I have been out of it for too long. I guess within a week I can loose my mind and get really lost.

I will try to find my way back just wait and I will be back.

Too Much

I just got a new blog and I don't know how. So here goes. I have been without a computer for a week I got the blue screen of death. Well, that was just what it was death.

I had to reformat and then I just got a new computer. I think I will like this one I just have to get used to what it can do and it can do lots of things my other one couldn't. So just be patient with me and I will be back up and running. I have to redo everything that I had before or omit stuff I don't want. That is a good otption.

Well, so much for that I will be working on getting back to where I was and that will take some time but it will be fun doing until I have to do the actual work on the programs that will have to be redone. Oh well, life goes on and I will live through it.

The Work

Here it is already Wednesday and I have been nose deep in all the things that I left behind for a whole week. Wow!! I don't think I have ever been gone for an entire week before it was nice.

I was happy to find out some of my work had been done and that was so nice. I got the payroll done and had to find all the reports but did that and now I hope it will be smooth sailing. We all know how that goes though.

Wanted to also let Marney's friends know if they ever find themselves out in this area and are looking for a respite in the storm or sun please don't hesitate to give us a call. We would be very happy to see you and if we can help that is what parents are for.

Just another word to let you know how much we enjoyed our trip to NY and meeting friends and being included in your plans. Thanks again.

Home Again Home Again

Here we are back in Vancouver and things are getting a little chilly here too.

We had a great time and I am so glad we got to meet Marney's friends so now I have a face to go with the names that she is always telling me about. That is very good.

We enjoyed our trip and got in lots of walking I know we wore Marney out and I am sorry for that but we don't get to see her very often so it was so nice to be able to spend time with her even if it was walking and talking.

I am glad we got to know Peter a bit also. I hear a lot about the things you guys do going to brunch and all the adventures that is very nice. I am happy to have been able to spend time with Peter also.

Thank you for the great trip and the flights were good no adventures there not even a second check or anything. That was great. Don't know when the next time will be but I hope it is sooner than 5 years I would like to change that if we can.

Thanks again and we are getting back to our normal routines and Bob has already played golf and has another round for tomorrow. He is working on the music that he got "The Jersey Boys" and is playing that. Now we can really relive the show sort of like if he was writing the music as he is working on getting it right. That is fun.

Better go not much more happening.

Leak Fixed

Well, we now have a new pipe and no leak. I hope.

Now I have to call the Utility Co. and let them know we had it repared so they can come and check it out and see that we really did get the job done. Then we might even get a little bit of a break on the next bill. That would be nice. Do much care for the ones I have been getting.

Looks like things are quiet on the western front at this time the weather seems to be changing well, I guess it is supposed to as it is FALL now so drag out those sweaters that have been gathering dust and get them ready to keep you warm and not just the boxes they have been stored in.

Don't know about you but mostly I don't wear a lot of sweaters right now as I have my own internal furnace and it is still on a little higher than I am used to I hope it gets regulated pretty soon I think it has been that way for a few years now. I am ready to go back to the old way even it it was cold.

Well, so much for now chat next time.

Time is nearing

Well, the time is coming close now. NY is calling. I don't know how good things will be at work this week I just know it will be cramed full of stuff that will have to be done.

We are battling the plumbing profession I think.....We have a nice leak and have called a plumber had them come out and check things out and said yes, You have a leak. Then they waited and we received our bill $$$$$ It was way out of line. Then I called back and the person that had been working with us is no longer there. Now we start over.

They did not call back so this Saturday we called another one and they said they would be here between 3 and 5 pm. So we waited (this was Bob's birthday) and waited and waited well can I tell you they never showed up!!!!

Now we will be going back to square one and see if we can get the other one out this week. Time will be really close but we need to have it plugged or we will be using up all the water for all the families in our area (if you have seen the growth that is frightening).

Well, that is about all I have to rant about and needed to get it off my chest and out there maybe it will make it better some how. We will see and I will let you know if we get relief or if we have another HUGH water bill.

Is it really Fall

I guess we take things for granted so easily. I heard someone say just the other day (after a couple of days of 60 degree weather) I am so glad we are finally getting some good weather. Now I guess I think we have had a lot of HOT weather this year. I don't mind a few days of HOT but when we have had more 90 degree days than we have had in a very long time.

Well, that is that. We are into Fall??? We are getting really spoiled with the no rain. We did have a little shower a few weeks ago and in some places we had about two to three inches of water standing. Soccer for the girls so far has been good. I know there are days on the way that will be WET and COLD.

Lots of changes at work so there are some longer days and I think my shoulders are getting more knotted up that usual. I will be happy when we settle down and get into our new rut. We are so predicibale and that is OK.

Not much happening just getting ready to pack and that will be fun. Party tomorrow more money to spend or at least look at the new product. I don't do much baking so I don't know if I will have too much use for much of it. But it will be a free dinner and I don't have to cook or clean up. I like that.

Think I need to check on my tomatoes before that fall weather sets in and we don't have anymore. I sure do like the fresh ones been putting them in my salad every day. We got some small ones not really cherry but bigger but not as big as regular ones so they are just right.

Hope you have a great week and I will check in again and see how life is treating us. Our life just keeps on keepin on. Not too exciting just keepin on.

I Agree with Marney

I too am not too keen on the whole anniversary thing for 9/11. I guess it is something everyone has to deal with the way they have to. I just know it isn't something we should really celebrate.

I think we should have something positive to look forward to. That might just be too much to ask for as we seem to celebrate all things that are dark and take our breath away. So why should this be any different.

I thought it would be easier yesterday too but it wasn't and all I heard all day long was what I didn't want to hear.

I think you had the right idea Marney just keep to yourself and I hope you made it through and got all the stuff off your chest or at least got all the tears out.

Let's look forward to more light and happy things.

Labor Day

This labor day weekend was a very warm one and we didn't go anywhere and didn't even have a Bar-B-Q or anything. What is happening to us? Are we just going about our own business and doing what we do.

Well, Bob and I did what we do best when we are together.....we SPENT money. Bob came home on Monday after a great round of golf and was so excited about a golf club. I haven't seen him that excited about golf in a very long time. So after he talked about THAT club we looked up on the net to see where the store was and we called. Sure enough it was there so we went of on our adventure and did turn out that way.

He thought there was a store in one area and it turned out not to be there and we had to go to the original place we checked on.

It turned out great he got to hit several clubs and then settled on the one he went there to get and he was very happy. Now I think he will be trying to get in some practice in the next few days until he can play again next weekend.

We did do other shopping but his was the most fun because he was so excited and when the sales person asked him what he thought????? Well, if any of you know my BOB. He would have talked himself out of the club and then kicked himself for not getting it. That is when I stepped in and told him to get it now.

And that is the rest of the story.

Hope yours was as good as that.

Looking to Labor Day

Just thought I would chime in. I am sort of new at the whole blog thing (doing it myself) I had help from Marney before and this time I just sort of made my own. So you will notice that I have a double entry that is something I don't know how to get rid of yet. I guess the whole thing is trial and error. I will figure it out and fix it. I will check with Marney and see about the fix.

We are just enjoying a little bit cooler weather and hope that it will stay. The 90 plus is too much for me now. I know those of you that know me are shocked to hear that but it has become tooooooo hot.

I will have a short weekend but that is OK. Bob will be on the golf course and I will be working so I guess we will both be working.

Hope everyone has a great weekend and has a wonderful new school year stareing up.

It's New

Things are pretty slow today. I had to take a day off this week as I will be working on Saturday payroll has a short turn around so that is life.

But I also forgot how BORING it is to be home all day. I guess if you have stuff planned and not just sprung on you it is different. I have already used my new vacuum and rearranged the guest room, scotch guarded my new chairs, and worked on the water spot on the carpet. (We have an AC unit and it drains into a pan) well needless to say the tube was not in the pan and the water was on the floor. I am glad I found it before it was two days or more. I have a fan blowing on it and have sucked up water with out "Little Green Carpet Machine" so it is just a matter of time now.

I guess I just need to look for laundry to do and see what might be waiting for me. I do have some folding but that is what I don't like. Oh well, just the fax.

I have my regular stuff but it isn't until after working hours. My massage and that sort of thing. So here I am just working on my blog. I don't really have much going on right now. Bob played golf this weekend, he was in a tournement on Saturday and he did pretty well and then played again on Sunday.

Gone for now.

August coming to a close

Another month is just about over and things are moving pretty fast. I am getting ready for a trip to NY. I hope the weather will be a little cooler then. I guess it has been awful.

We are looking forward to seeing Marney and getting to spend sometime with Peter. We only met him for a few hours and it would be nice to have more time with him.

We are getting excited and now with the new restrictions on travel I hope things will be calmed down by then and we won't have to be on edge so much. It seems like when we have one of these events it takes a couple of months to get things under control and then we can go about our business and be more aware but also be able to be ourselves.

I don't have any requests for stuff yet but as the time grows near I might have some requests. We are planning to visit some of the places we haven't gone to before. Marney sent us a couple of books to help plan our trip and that was nice.

We are in our own heat wave here. This weekend is a hot one. We have had more days in the 90's this year than ever before and it isn't over yet. We might have a few more. So all we can do is stay as cool as we can and not let it fluster us.

Well, not much more on the fax so will chat again soon.
